Ashley & Jay ~ Engagement

We met up with Ashley & Jay a couple weeks back on 06/14/14 for a rustic Engagement Session in Sedro Woolley.  The light was perfect & Ashley and Jay looked so natural & in love as we strolled through an area with high-grass fields and deserted barns (a place they used to frequent often before the big move to Ballard).  Ashley & Jay have been dating for about 8 years before Jay ‘popped the question’ last year while the happy couple were eating crab melts down on the Seattle Waterfront (& Ashley said yes, btw)!  They like hiking, road trips, dining out & cooking in! Favorite song – “Tiny Dancer” by Sir Elton John (love that tune)!  Ashley works in the Travel Industry and Jay is finishing his degree in Computer Science.  Their big day is next January in Anacortes, but until then join me in sending out a joyful “Congratulations!” to these 2 best friends who fell in love and found a new, wonderful life together!

Styled Session ~ Stepping Stones Gardens

One of our favorite venues in Skagit Valley is Stepping Stones Gardens in Burlington.  With it’s beautiful tall trees and stunning natural floral backgrounds,  Stepping Stones Gardens is the perfect venue for a Styled Wedding Session.  So when we were invited to photograph one there on 06/09/14, we jumped at the chance!  Working with an amazing group of vendors made the photography on a late summer afternoon even more meaningful.  Special thanks to Kendra for opening up her beautiful venue, Leslie with Oohh LaLa Events for her coordination & attention to every detail and to Diane – our diligent model from Cinderella’s Secret!  The Country-Chic style we were going for was definitely realized due to everyone’s hard work that night, so thanks to all who partcipated for making our special night so fantastic! If you are in need of a vendor for your Wedding, we highly recommend these Wedding professionals for your special day!

Styled Session ~ Vintage Country Fair

A couple weeks ago, on 06/01/14, Jennifer and I were honored to participate for our 5th year in the Snohomish Wedding Tour. Our location this year was Green Gates at Flowing Lake – an amazing Wedding Venue located just outside of Snohomish.   Rose-Lily, along with an incredible group of talented vendors, contributed to a styled theme for this special event. Stefanie from Forever Events Planning  flawlessly infused the flair of a ‘Vintage Country Fair’ into the venue and the displays. Highlights were the antique merry-go round horse and the vintage Pop Corn makers (courtesy of Cabbage Patch). There were too many other colorful & creative details to recount here, so we’ll let these pictures do the talking for us! If you have a Wedding coming up, we hope these images help add some ideas to your palette – and maybe some talented vendors as well! Speaking of vendors, here’s the list of those we were honored to work with at Green Gates:

    SpringHill Suites Bothell (Solana O’Hair)

Clearview Spirits and Wines (Bonnie Roulstone)

    Sweet Buffet Lady (Wendy Amundsen)

    Ceremony Masters (Dale Amundsen)

    Cabbage Patch Catering (Sondi)

    Flora d’Amore (Chelsea)

    CK Paper Designs (Kimberlee)

    Big Dog Music (Jerry)

Max and Lulus Photo Booth (Jennifer)

    Skagit Valley Wedding Rentals (Taryn)

    Forever Events Planning (Stefanie)

      PJ Parsons ~ Family Session

Back on 5/25 we photographed an amazing Family Session for friend & colleague PJ Parsons, Wedding DJ (with PJ Parsons Presents) at Legion park in Everett.  PJ herself did not make an appearance (what’s up with that PJ?), but she drafted her kiddos & their loved ones into going anyway!  And we’re glad she did – we had a great afternoon shooting family pictures, despite the rain! PJ’s 3 kiddos are Andie (who is expecting PJ’s 2nd grandchild) with Andre, Chris with Alexandra and Xavier, and Megan.   The rain & gray light gave our session in Everett an authentic Pacific Northwest feel & the park’s beautiful foliage worked perfectly as a natural, organic background for our pictures.  Great day  – great Family – thanks’ PJ (& we’ll  get you in front of the lens next time)!

        Rose-Lily: Best of 2013

With the 2014 Wedding Season now officially under way, & with 2 Bridal Shows in the last 2 weeks, we wanted to take one final look back at the 2013 Season before we officially launch in to 2014.   So here’s a slide show of our best work from last year (be sure to click on the volume icon for a great soundtrack!).  Jenn captured some amazing, candid moments with our couples and I was honored to have the opportunity to do some of the best work of my career in 2013.  Great couples, great venues, great families, great vendors – 2013 was awesome.  And now, we move forward!  Starting with Alina & Mark on 6/21/14 at Hidden Meadows in Snohomish thru Malissa & Ragan on 10/05/14 at the Lake Union Café –  it’s time to walk down the aisle again!  It’s time to capture those irreplaceable moments, to laugh & cry with our couples and to photograph a new season of love & commitment in the Pacific Northwest!  For those who have already chosen us to photograph their Wedding Day – thank you!  For those wanting to know more – call / email anytime and we will meet, buy you coffee and talk about how Rose-Lily can make your one special day last a lifetime through the art of photography.
